Camp Location: We are using a wonderful location for our 2021 Summer Camp. We will be at the Kol Shalom synagogue at 9110 Darnestown Road, Rockville MD 20850. It is less than a mile from Route 270 (Exit 6) and easy to reach. The classrooms are huge, allowing us to easily space campers out by 6’ or more. There is a protected backyard area for lunches and fresh air. The building itself is quite modern, having been constructed 9 years ago.
Our 2021 Summer Camp will be conveniently located at synagogue Kol Shalom, at 9110 Darnestown Road, Rockville MD 20850

Summer Camp Curriculum: Our curriculum is our typical Panda Programmer curriculum, which consists of the following topics:
Scratch JR Scratch Jr is a great introduction to block programming and logical thinking for our younger students (typically grades 2 and below) to get the knack of programming. Scratch JR students do not nead to type in order to master the topic
Scratch Scratch is a block-based visual programming language and website targeted primarily at children to help learn code. Users of the site can create online projects using a block-like interface. The service is developed by the MIT Media Lab, has been translated into 70+ languages, and is used in most parts of the world. It is fully a “real programming language” and features variables, boolean logic, functions, operators, and powerful graphics capabilities
Advanced Scratch Projects in Advanced Scratch can involve sophisticated functions, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, 3 dimensional graphics, and more
Robots Coding and computer science is challenging and fun, but when our students use their programming skills to control physical machines like robots, their sense of accomplishment reaches entirely new levels.
Python Python is a high-level and general-purpose programming language. Python’s design philosophy emphasizes code readability and efficiency. Python is the programming language of choice for many professional computer programmers
Advanced robotics seminar Is your middle-schooler ready for a more advanced and challenging experience with robotics? Let us know, and we can take a small group of like-minded campers on a journey to create a robot from scratch. Motors, sensors, advanced CAD for design- it’s all part of our advanced robotics seminar
Covid Safety: We are very conscious of the fact that Covid is still around. Specific precautions that we will be taking to protect our campers and ourselves from Covid include:
Online Classes: And… if you and your family are not quite ready yet for the in-person camp experience, no problem! We will continue to offer our online classes throughout the summer, as we have been doing for more than 12 months now. Just sign up for the class(es) you are interested in on our web-site.
